Commission

Designing unique wearable objects to suit the individual comes easily.
“Turning clients and friends utilitarian haberdashery bits and pieces into a unique piece of adornment is the best part of the job”

Jane’s commissions have included designing:

• A series of brooches from a client’s grandmothers button collection. This client loved her Grandmothers coloured coded button collection but didn’t want to see them used conventionally on clothing. Using the buttons as brooches was the perfect answer.

• A matching hairpiece, earrings and shoe adornment for a wedding. The bride had her dress made by Zambesi. Whilst at the Double Bay store for a fitting she saw my work. Together we designed red and gold pieces that added a unique flair to the bridal outfit. See picture below.

• Neckpieces for a mother and daughter using vintage glass buttons with special family significance. I was asked to create two unique neckpiece from matching buttons. I successfully created two distinctively different pieces enabling daughter and grand daughter to wear the heirloom buttons.
